Bye-Bye Alaska

"Home is where the heart is."  I feel like the saying should be "home is where we're together."

For some reason this time coming home alone has been a bit harder than times before.  Not so much because of the traveling (although an extra set of hands is always helpful), but more just not having us all together.

Flying home.

Early Flights. This was taken about 5:30 am.

Ready to fly.  These 2 are both too old to be lap children.

On our 2nd flight be both (Sarah & I) ended up sitting behind impatient people.  Oh boy.  Really there's only so much you can do to keep toddlers quiet and we had 4 between the 2 of us.  I'm sure those people didn't realize that we had already been traveling for probably 6 hours prior to boarding our last flight.  The funny thing is that a "voice" periodically would say, "you're doing good mom."  I call it a voice because we weren't quite sure where it was coming from.  I appreciated the encouragement especially while trying to deal with unkind people.

Not pictured was our welcoming crew.  Sarah's mom, sister, and brother-in-law all met us at the airport and were kind enough to help me with bags and car seats and even take me home.  They even picked up some milk and cereal to help us get started again. It was such a help after such a long day and coming home to a hot, empty house.

  1. Dash has the same shirt. Did I already tell you that? I'm glad you got home safely.
