Morning Routine

Marley goes into her bedroom and shuts the door.

A few minutes later she peeps her head out the door and says "pooped!"

I am usually finishing up dishes or something.  If I'm not as quick as she thinks I should be, she peeps her head out again and says, "pooped".

I then go in and change her diaper.

How can I just get her to do that in the toilet?!

  1. To be honest, if she is hiding in her room to "do her business" she probably isn't ready to do it on the toilet.
I know how frustrating it is. I am trying to potty train 2 two year olds right now!
The one thing that I learned from Deklan though is that it's better not to pressure them before they are ready. It was a nightmare with him, but I was so determined to have him potty trained before I had Dallin.
He was fine with going pee in the toilet but not ready to poop. Let me just say I spent WAY too much time cleaning out underwear.
I learned my lesson and I'm not going to do that with these two. If I have to have three kids in diapers all at the same time oh well. :( (I hope not though!)
Good luck, potty training CAN be really stressful.

  2. Ahhh... my daughter started training when she was 20 months old and didn't get it until she was 3 and a half... no joke. Just be patient, when she's ready she'll do it. One thing I did read was that if there is one specific place they tend to go to to do their business (in the article I read it was behind the couch) or in her room, to put the small potty in there and see if they'll do it. Good luck!

  3. Kobe was 31/2 before he was potty-trained. Gabe was almost 3, but he potty-trained himself. What I learned with Kobe I didn't do with Gabe. That was trying to potty-train! I would much rather change a diaper than underwear. Good-luck!

P.S the little treat didn't work with the boys, they liked the BIG toys I had on top of the fridge. Everytime I walked by, I would say wow look at that toy, Kobe can have you when he poops in the potty!

  6. I know! (We don't even think about potty training until they turn 3 so I'm of no help.)
