New Year Resolutions
I have so many things I want to improve. Here are just a few...
1. Personal, daily scripture reading. I have totally slacked lately and there is just no excuse. I feel such a difference in my day and in my home when I do it.
2. Family scripture study. I told Jared last night that I wanted to read together and that I thought the only/best time was in the morning. I told him I would just get up early and that I knew I could do it. He was quiet for a minute and said he wasn't sure it would work.
Me: What time are you getting up tomorrow?
Jared: Between 4 and 4:30
Me: Laughing. Ok, that's NOT going to work!
We finally decided that we would memorize scriptures; one a day or every other day. We would read them over dinner. That's really not too hard. We just need to stick to it.
3. Attend the temple once a month. I decided that planning is the key with this one.
4. Stick to my budget. When I'm ambitious, I'll do up a budget and think how great it looks. Then I'll go about my life and never review to make sure I'm sticking to it or see where adjustments should/could be made.
5. I'm bit nervous to write this one out. I had my mom bring me my violin and I do want to pick it up again. I tuned it all up and pulled out a simple piece and began playing...I sounded horrible! The violin isn't like the piano where you can just play and sound decent. I think it's going to take some work. So, a realistic goal? Play once a week whether it sounds good or not! :) I know it's going to take more than once a week to sounds decent but I'm going to go with baby steps for this one.
I feel your pain with the violin...I picked it up a few weeks ago because my dad was bugging me about it..I thought I could show the kids a little fiddling...oh my do I need some practicing! So good job with the resolution!
ReplyDeleteVIolin........my kids think I sound great! Hopefully my neighbors can't hear me.
ReplyDeleteWow, Heidi. Sadly I haven't even started thinking about what I need to do. You're inspirational, I will start on it today, making my list.
ReplyDeleteYou're so good...SO GOOD! I'm very impressed. Keep at it.
