Jake is 3

Jake turned 3 on April 28.  Luckily, this year his birthday fell on a Saturday so I had Marley home to help make his day special.  She loves birthdays, holidays, and parties.

I really was planning on doing some sort of birthday party for him even though Jared wouldn't be there to help, but Jake sometimes doesn't like big crowds.

First things first.  We opened all the gifts my parents had sent.

This looks more like Christmas than a birthday.

My mom sent Marley gifts as well so that she didn't feel left out.  She was quite pleased about that.
After gifts and breakfast, we headed to the train park - Jake's favorite place.

Our friend, Addy, and her mom and brother joined us.

When we arrived at the train park, Marley wondered where all of Jake's friends were.  She was worried that nobody showed up to Jake's birthday party.  Next year, I will have to do a real party for him.

That evening I had a fundraiser for the young women at church.  We did a fry bread dinner (yummy).                                When Jake saw all the decorations and balloons, he was convinced this was his party.  One girl made balloon animals for the kids.  It was a hit.
Patiently waiting for his balloon sword.

It's crazy how quickly 3 years have passed.

Jared made it home from work just as the fundraiser was ending.  He stopped and grabbed a small cake at the store and we all came home to sing and eat cake with Jake.

We love you Jake!
