Progress
I really did know better than to try to start a house project a month out from having a baby. There are ALWAYS hiccups and 1 month was just not enough time.
I'm now not knowing really what I should do. My house is partially finished on the outside and I really can't (or don't want to) oversee anything now that baby is coming. GRR. Not a good place to be again. I swore I wouldn't do something like that again after having Jake during a remodel.
Here's the progress:
Paint. Still not sure how much I love the color, but it's too late to change now. It was actually going to be much, much lighter. When the painters dropped off the 5 gallon buckets of paint, I freaked. I took it down to Dunn Edwards and had them do all the tweaking they could at that point. They were quite annoyed with me. I'm sure I'm not the first customer who has needed tweaking done to their paint because it came out differently than they expected. So, like it or not, here's the color I now have. I think once I add a darker color to the shutters and door and add some landscaping it will be fine.
No more freaky mail slot. My kids seriously talked to strangers through that thing. Visitors often thought it was fine to just go ahead and look through there to see if anyone was home. Not cool. Not to mention the cockroaches that sometimes found their way into my house through that opening. It's nice to have it gone, but stinks that now it needs to sanded down and painted. Hoping Jared will have time to do that during his week of "vacation" when the baby comes. :)
I fired my painters (that's another story) and am now just a few days away from having a baby and need to find new painters and get the project finished.
Wish me luck!
